STAGE 4: LAB

In this stage, the egg and sperm cells are joined together. Either sufficient active sperm cells are joined directly with the egg cells in order to fertilize them, or ICSI is used. In the latter case, one sperm cell is injected into the egg cell. The fertilized egg cells are then immediately placed into computer-controlled incubators, where they will further develop under optimum conditions for 2 to 5 days.
If necessary, this stage may also involve genetic analyses of the embryo. Our IVF centre has acquired a reputation throughout Europe for its successful fertility treatments.

We apply strict controls in order to prevent any exchange with egg and sperm cells of other patients. For that same reason, the fertilized egg cells all have their own place in the incubator.
