STAGE 6: EMBRYO TRANSFER

On this important day, the couple returns to the IVF centre where the treating doctor will fully inform them of the quality of the embryos and of whether there are any surplus embryos.
Subsequently, the maximum allowed number of embryos is transferred into the uterus. This procedure only takes a few minutes. Both partners are discharged home immediately afterwards
Any surplus embryos may be frozen, provided that they are of excellent quality. If the patient is not pregnant, these frozen embryos may be used in a next treatment cycle.
It is obligatory by law to first use the frozen embryos prior to starting a new cycle.
